BISAP (Bangladesh Integrated Social Advancement Programme) is a non-political, non profitable and non-govt. development organization. It came into existence in 19989 in response to the felt needs of the dis-advantage rural poor & slum dwellers the active initiative of local social workers, philanthropists and educationists to promote socio-economic status of the distressed and powerless people for improving their physical quality of life.
BISAP is the acronym of “Bangladesh Integrated Social Advancement Programme”. It is a non-political, non profitable secular and non-government development organization. It came into existence in 1989 in response to the felt needs of the area of the poor and hard core people especially problems of endemic poverty which manifest in landlessness, unemployment, illiteracy, malnutrition and vulnerability to frequent natural disaster by the active initiative of local social workers, philanthropists and educationists with a view to alleviating poverty through empowerment, education and resource mobilization for improving their life and livelihood and innovating appropriate development strategies to lead the programme towards sustainability.
In line with its organizational mandate BISAP maintains a dynamic network with all relevant authorities.
BISAP aspires for a society/family free from poverty, free from oppression and free from deprivation where every individual will be
able to live in peace, communal harmony
and to lead to them towards sustainability.
The main focus of BISAP is to empower the distressed and powerless people especially women and children in socio-economic emancipation to lead an active and healthy life through group formation, people’s organization, concretization, education, training, revolving micro-credit against economic activities, health, HIV/AIDS,
water & environmental sanitation, social afforestation and human rights along with facilitating them in establishing their due rights.
